Car Maintenance vs Auto Repair
There is some confusion between auto repair and auto maintenance. I always felt it is important to look at your bill and see how much you spent on maintenance and how much you spent on repairs. Once repairs start getting out of hand, that is when it is time to contemplate purchasing another car.
Auto Maintenance is what you spend to keep your car up.
Common Maintenance Items:
Air Filters (Cabin, Engine, Fuel)
Fluid Flushes/Changes (Brake, Clutch, Coolant, Differentials, Engine Oil, Power Steering, Transfer Case, Transmission)
Tires (including their upkeep of rotations, balancing, & wheel alignments)
Auto Repairs is what you spend because something is broken and directly affecting safety, drive-ability and/or reliability.
