Spring "Brake" Pre Road Trip List

If you're going to be headed out of town soon, be sure to schedule a visit to your auto care facility before heading out. And I recommend planning the visit to the garage with some grace period before your road trip. Ideally a week and at minimum three days. Why the buffer? The buffer is because you might need a special order part. Or something significant is required, and the work would take a few days. Sometimes major work requires a follow-up visit.

Here is a list of what I think are definite road trip check-up items and systems to have looked over;

  1. Tires

  2. Brakes

  3. Suspension & Steering

  4. Alignment

  5. Fluid conditions

  6. Engine cooling system

  7. Belts & Hoses

  8. Battery
